This Privacy Policy describes how Prep To Pay LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information about you when you use PrepToPay at preptopay.com and app.preptopay.com.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Account information: Your email address and password when you create an account
  • Payment information: Billing details processed by Stripe — we do not store your card number
  • Email list: Your email address if you subscribe to our mailing list via the landing page form
  • Support communications: Any messages you send to support@preptopay.com

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage data: Questions answered, quiz scores, flashcard progress, domains studied, and feature usage within the app
  • Session data: Login sessions, timestamps, and authentication tokens managed by Supabase
  • Device and browser information: Browser type, operating system, and IP address collected via standard web logs

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Process subscription payments and manage billing
  • Personalize your study experience (tracking weak areas, flashcard progress, quiz history)
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts, password resets)
  • Send educational emails and product updates if you have subscribed to our mailing list (you may unsubscribe at any time)
  • Improve the platform based on aggregate usage patterns
  • Respond to support requests

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the following third-party service providers as necessary to operate PrepToPay:

  • Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure (supabase.com)
  • Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com)
  • Kit (ConvertKit) — email marketing for subscribers who opt in (kit.com)
  • Anthropic — AI assistant functionality; queries sent to the AI assistant are processed by Anthropic’s API (anthropic.com)
  • Netlify — app hosting infrastructure (netlify.com)

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy governing their handling of data.

We may also disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of PrepToPay, its users, or the public.

4. AI Assistant and Data

When you use the PrepToPay AI assistant, your queries are sent to Anthropic’s API for processing. Do not submit personally identifiable information, sensitive payroll data about real employees, or confidential business information through the AI assistant. Queries are not stored by PrepToPay beyond the active session.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or billing purposes.

Study progress data (quiz scores, flashcard history) is deleted with your account.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access-controlled databases via Supabase. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

7. Cookies and Tracking

PrepToPay uses session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We do not participate in cross-site behavioral advertising.

8. Children’s Privacy

PrepToPay is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us at support@preptopay.com and we will delete the account.

9. Your Rights

You may at any time:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you by contacting support@preptopay.com
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails via the unsubscribe link in any email
  • Update your email address or password from your account settings

Colorado residents may have additional rights under the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA). Contact us to make a request.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of PrepToPay after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
