These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of PrepToPay, operated by Prep To Pay LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a Colorado limited liability company. By creating an account or using PrepToPay, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
PrepToPay is a web-based payroll certification exam preparation platform offering practice questions, flashcards, reference tools, calculators, and an AI-powered payroll assistant. We offer preparation content for the Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) and Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) exams administered by PayrollOrg.
PrepToPay is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to PayrollOrg or any certification body. Passing any certification exam is not guaranteed.
2. Accounts
You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to use PrepToPay.
3. Subscription, Billing, and Refunds
PrepToPay is offered on a subscription basis with three plans:
- Reference: $9.99/month or $99/year
- FPC: $19.99/month or $199/year
- CPP: $29.99/month or $299/year
The FPC and CPP plans include a 14-day free trial. A valid payment method is required at signup; you will not be charged during the trial period. The Reference plan does not include a free trial. After the trial period (where applicable), continued access requires a paid subscription.
Subscriptions renew automatically (monthly or annually, depending on the plan you select) until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access through the end of the period you have already paid for.
We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods except where required by applicable law.
Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on the plan you select).
4. Free Trial
New users on the FPC or CPP plans may access a 14-day free trial with full access to all features for that plan. A valid payment method is required at signup; you will not be charged during the trial period. You may cancel at any time before the trial ends to avoid being charged. The Reference plan does not include a free trial. At the end of the trial, your account will revert to limited access unless you continue your subscription.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Share your account credentials with others
- Reproduce, distribute, or resell PrepToPay content
- Scrape, copy, or systematically download question bank content or flashcards
- Attempt to reverse engineer or circumvent any access controls
- Use the AI assistant to generate content for commercial redistribution
- Use PrepToPay in any way that violates applicable law
6. Intellectual Property
All content on PrepToPay — including practice questions, flashcards, rate card data, explanations, and AI-generated responses — is owned by or licensed to Prep To Pay LLC. You may not reproduce or distribute this content without written permission.
7. AI Assistant Disclaimer
The PrepToPay AI assistant is powered by a third-party large language model and is provided for educational and reference purposes only. It does not constitute legal, tax, or professional payroll advice. Calculation outputs should be verified against current official sources before use in professional contexts. Tax rates and regulatory figures may not reflect the most current published values.
8. Accuracy of Content
We make reasonable efforts to keep exam content, rate card data, and reference materials current and accurate. However, payroll regulations, tax rates, and exam frameworks change frequently. We do not warrant that any content is complete, accurate, or up to date. Always verify critical information with official sources before applying it professionally.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
PrepToPay is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular exam outcome will result from use of the platform.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prep To Pay LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of earnings, exam failure, or data loss, arising out of your use of PrepToPay. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 30 days preceding the claim.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice in the app. Continued use of PrepToPay after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@preptopay.com.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Colorado.
