What's the difference between FPC and CPP?

The FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) is the entry-level credential and requires no prior payroll experience. The CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) requires at least 3 years of payroll experience and covers more advanced topics including multistate taxation and systems. PrepToPay sells FPC and CPP as separate plans. FPC is $19.99/month, CPP is $29.99/month, both with a 14-day free trial.

How does the free trial work?

FPC and CPP plans include a 14-day free trial. Enter a card at checkout and we won't charge it during the trial. Cancel any time before the trial ends and you won't be charged. If you don't cancel, your subscription begins at the price you selected. The Reference plan is $9.99/month with no trial.

Is the question bank updated for the 2026 exam?

Yes. The CPP question bank is built on the 2026 PayrollOrg KSA framework and reviewed by CPP-credentialed payroll professionals. The FPC bank covers all 7 domains with 500+ questions. We update rates and regulatory content as changes are published.

Can I use PrepToPay on my phone?

Yes. PrepToPay is fully mobile-responsive. Open it in any browser on your phone, tablet, or computer. No app download required.

What if I am not pursuing a certification? Is PrepToPay still useful?

Yes, and you do not need a certification at all to find value in PrepToPay. The 2026 rate card, gross-up calculator, garnishment calculator, deposit schedule, and compliance calendar are practical tools that anyone working in payroll can use on the job. Many subscribers are not pursuing a credential — they use PrepToPay purely as a reference tool.

You can cancel any time from your account settings. There are no cancellation fees and no contracts. If you cancel during the free trial you will not be charged at all.

What do I do if my password suddenly stops working?

Use the Forgot password link on the sign-in screen. It's instant, costs nothing, and doesn't affect your subscription or study progress. If you still can't get in after that, email preptopay@outlook.com and we'll fix it.
