This page explains how to request deletion of your PrepToPay account and the data associated with it. We comply with applicable data-protection laws including the GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and the Google Play and App Store user-data deletion requirements.
How to request account deletion
Send an email to preptopay@preptopay.com from the email address registered to your PrepToPay account. Use the subject line “Delete my account”.
That is the only step required. We will confirm receipt within two business days and complete deletion within thirty calendar days. If you do not receive a confirmation email within two business days, please email us again from the same address.
What gets deleted
- Your account record (email address, password hash, account creation date)
- Your profile (name if provided, exam track, exam date, plan tier, premium status)
- Your study progress (lesson completions, question history, flashcard interactions, AI assistant conversation history)
- Your reported issues sent through the in-app Report button
- Any cached app data on your device (cleared automatically when you uninstall the app)
What we retain, and why
- Payment and billing records are retained for up to seven years to comply with United States tax-record retention requirements. These records are held by our payment processor (Stripe) and contain transaction metadata only. They do not include access credentials.
- Anonymized usage statistics (aggregate counts of questions answered, sessions, etc.) may be retained for product analytics. These are not linked to your identity after deletion.
- Compliance and legal records required by law may be retained for the period required by the relevant law.
Timeline
- Within 2 business days: we send you an email confirming receipt of your deletion request.
- Within 30 calendar days: deletion of the data listed above is complete in our primary databases.
- Within 90 calendar days: deletion is complete in routine backups (older backups expire on a rolling basis).
- Up to 7 years: billing and tax records are retained as described above.
